I began this painting, as I usually do, with a letter to the universe. "Dear Universe..."
Questions, feelings, thoughts, quotes... all dumped onto the canvas. Then, I layered wild color and movement on top of those ponderings.
This painting stopped at step 2, because the storm felt perfectly real, and right.
