Raven in Wait

I began this painting, as I usually do, with a letter to the universe.  "Dear Universe..."

Questions, feelings, thoughts, quotes... all dumped onto the canvas.  Then, I layered wild color and movement on top of those ponderings.  

The last step is imagining what the painting should be, what animal or bird, or...??  will be the focus of the artwork.  The Raven showed up for this painting, and he is quietly watching, waiting, and protecting.
