Nion Ash Trees
Nion — Sacred Grove series
Two ash trees stand at the water's edge, catching the full green fire of the season — that brief, electric green that only holds a few weeks before summer settles it down. The light comes from behind and through them, turning every leaf to something lit from within. Their pale trunks fork and lean toward each other, rooted in the same wet meadow, the water lying quiet behind.
There's a companionship in it. Two trees keeping the same ground, holding the light between them. Stamped into the work is Nion, the Ogham letter for ash — the tree the old alphabet tied to connection, to the thread that runs between one thing and the next.
Framed to 11"×14" in a hand-finished walnut floater frame. Ready to hang.
