All Original Paintings
One of a kind. Signed. Painted in Montana.
Every piece here is an original, painted or sculpted by my hand in my artist-owned studio in downtown Bozeman, where I've worked since 2002. I paint Montana the way it feels rather than the way it photographs: big color, moving skies, rivers that glow, and animals that look back at you. Each original is signed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, and when it leaves the studio there will never be another one like it.
My work is also represented by the Holter Museum of Art in Helena, Montana Arts and Home in Big Sky, and Altitude Gallery and LeeAnn Ramey Gallery in Bozeman, and it hangs in private collections across the country. Start wherever something catches your eye.
The Sacred Grove
Twenty paintings drawn from Ogham, the ancient Irish tree alphabet, and rooted in six generations of Montana ground. Each tree is a letter: birch for beginnings, oak for strength, willow for intuition. The letters are worked quietly into the paint, never announced. Together the grove spells something anyway.
Sculpted Reliefs
Montana's summits in three dimensions: Sacajawea, Ross, Granite, and Lone Peak, hand-cast and hand-finished as bas-relief. These are mountains you can run your hand across, made to catch changing light through the day the way the real peaks do.
Montana Landscapes
Rivers, ranges, and the light between them. The Missouri swinging through a canyon, Hyalite at sunset, the Madison running cold and bright. These are the places I return to, painted in the electric color they hold in the right hour.
Feather, Fur & Fin
The wild company of Montana: ravens watching from the pines, grizzlies walking out of swirls of fire and river blue, trout holding in cold water. Painted with movement in every stroke and enough stillness in the eyes that you feel watched back.
The Archive
Earlier work from more than twenty years of painting Montana, some of it rarely seen. A look at where the work began, and a chance to own a piece of that story.
Commissions
Looking for something made for your space, or for a place that matters to you? I paint custom commissions, including family tree paintings rooted in your own lineage.
