New Week, New Artwork AND NEW Adventures!

This week is exceptionally exciting!
  • ~New Artwork filled with bright spring-inspired YELLOW (my favorite).
  • ~WILD new adventures (both inward and physically...I'll very literally be taking one step at a time).

I am running my first 50k in Monument Valley, AZ THIS Saturday!

"Once a year, go someplace you've never been before."  Dali Lama

I'm going!  New place (Monument Valley) and plenty of new adventures await... I am overflowing with nervous excitement and anticipation...this painting filled with light and a dash of chaos feels like my inner self. My honest reasons for taking on this challenge are layered, as are my paintings. For me, it's about being comfortable in the uncomfortable.  Patient throughout the journey.  Slow down to go further, simplify.  Don't let your fears direct your focus.  Just breathe.  It's okay to be terrified, just take it one step at a time and find beautiful things to celebrate along the way.  Be kind and reasonably selfish in goals and training...find and cultivate my own inner strength, mental fortitude... and I have no doubt that the journey itself will uncover many more learning opportunities.

Why a 50K?!  :)  WHY NOT!

Honestly the thought alone terrified me, mystified me, and challenged me in ways I have yet to fully comprehend.  If it scared me THAT much, I obviously had to do it.

I have already grown in training, more personally and definitely endurance-wise.  I have an amazing support team of not only friends and family, but of the BEST PT at Lone Peak PT, unreal massage therapists, and the MOST inspirational BADASS running coach (and friend) a gal could ask for.  I'm dialed, I've done the work, I've put in hours and hours of miles...but more importantly, SO MUCH self-care.  These last few weeks have been slow.  Recovery based and time to feel good.  Crazy how difficult that is.

But!  May we all learn how to pause and how to slow down...in order to go further.

In a cool way, it feels like this journey (somewhat obviously) is paralleling my art and my life.  I'm excited to PAINT the blooming desert and to rumble with my own inner voice for a beautiful jog through the Valley.  Look for many, many new paintings coming soon!
