Moving on up! Studio upgrade!

Change. Seasonal. Emotional. Physical. Vocational. New spaces, new memories, new artwork! I am constantly amazed (and grateful) that I can make a living doing what I love. Now I'm upgrading!! Today I went from my very first "outside of my house/bedroom/closet/garage type studio space" (which I've loved), to a larger more paint-happy place! Yes, it's right next door. So not a long distance move. But it's big and bright and I'm EXCITED TO PAINT BIG AGAIN! All big, brave (ummm, attempting), great new things in store for fall in my studio! Now I can have larger classes, paint larger paintings. SEE my art supplies all in one place (instead of in random hiding places in every single nook and cranny I could find). I might get a label-maker, don't tell my family. Organized and artist haven't always blended well. :) AND...! I HAVE A SINK! Not a big deal if you're not working with brushes and paint daily. But trust me, this is awesome. So cheers to new beginnings. Fall. School. Changing colors. Fading temperatures... In the words of the ever-wise Kristin Armstrong...
Do the things you used to talk about doing but never did. Know when to let go and when to hold on tight. Stop rushing. Don't be intimidated to say it like it is. Stop apologizing all the time. Learn to say no, so your yes has some oomph. Spend time with the friends who lift you up, and cut loose the ones who bring you down. Stop giving your power away. Be more concerned with being interested than being interesting. Be old enough to appreciate your freedom, and young enough to enjoy it. Finally know who you are.
Friends, whatever is on your mind that needs a courageous boost today, I say please DO IT!
